Beach Baby's Lap Quilts are made using fabrics chosen for those who might be too "mature" for some of our baby quilts. Many of them are a little larger than the baby quilts, too.

Some of the lap quilts are tied, and some are machine-quilted. All are machine-washable.

Tied quilts are held together by hand-sewing a series of stitches through all of the layers, and tying knots according to the geometric shapes of the patchwork pieces, or at regular intervals over the quilt. This method works best with thick quilts, since it is difficult to make small quilting stitches through the high-loft polyester batting.

Machine-quilted quilts are finished by "sandwiching" lightweight cotton batting between the quilt top and back. The three layers are fed into a quilting machine, and stitched with a special sewing machine. These quilts drape and fold easily, and are 100% cotton.
